Looking for a way to get the mace off the ground? Here is the launch. Start with the mace on the ground in-front of your body. Once ready dip your hips while keeping your torso upright. Drive your hips forward and stand up with the mace causing it to raise to eye level.
This exercise is also how you would start a mace competition.
